Vassilis Papatsarouchas was born in Athens in 1975. He studied Painting, Set Design and Graphic Arts under Triantafyllos Patraskidis, Giorgos Ziakas and Leoni Vidali in the Athens School of Fine Arts. He work has been exhibited in Greece and in other countries, in five solo painting exhibitions, whilst he has also participated in several group shows. Over fifty books carrying his illustrations have been so far published, both within and outside Greece. He was twice awarded with the Greek State Award for Illustration and was also twice the

recipient of the EBGE award (Greek Award for Graphics and Illustration). In 2008, he was a candidate for the international Hans Christian Andersen Illustration Award. In the theatre, he has collaborated as stage and costume designer with Nikos Mastorakis, Nikos Chatzopoulos, Akilas Karazisis, Giannis Anastasakis, Stamatis Kraounakis and Stavros Tsakiris
